Pavant Thrust, Central Utah
Sevier-Laramide Project:
The Pavant Thrust near Fillmore, Utah
See one of Utah's best-exposed thrust faults in the scenic and accessible Pavant Mountains!
Notes
Travel: Fillmore has hotels and accommodations, and is located conveniently along Interstate 15.
Access: The canyon and mountain roads provide good access into the mountains. They're rocky and steep in places, requiring tires and clearance appropriate for the terrain. I'd only take a car into the lower parts of either canyon.
Camping: Chalk Creek and Kanosh Canyons have good campgrounds and primitive campsites.
